After the gates and risers have been cut off, and the tooling around the letters if finished, the plaque is then painted or given a patina finish which is shown here.  The plaque is heated using a torch.

Then an acid mixture is sprayed on the hot plaque to color it.

We Accept:

When the clear coat has dried, the finished plaque is ready to be moved to the location where it will be displayed.

The plaque is then polished using an air grinder and stroke sander. Then is clear coated to keep from oxidizing.

The final destination of this plaque is the Big Dipper Ice Arena in Fairbanks, Alaska.
